The Arc of Ventura County offers several residential alternatives that provide training and support for a growing number of individuals who want to be self-reliant. Our services cater to individuals in a variety of supervised situations.
Residential Care Home Services offer residents a structured and supervised setting, while promoting independence, dignity, and personal choice. A wide range of professional services are available. Our well-trained and caring support staff lead many social and recreational opportunities.

Training for Independent Living (TIL) is a transitional living program that emphasizes independent living skills and effective decision making. The training instruction focuses on daily living skills, including: housekeeping, interpersonal relationships, meal preparation, money management, personal care, recreation, safety, shopping, and transportation.

Supported Services for Independent Living (SSIL) supports the needs of individuals who desire to live independently or who have successfully completed the Training for Independent Living Program. Services include training at the individual’s home and in the community. Instruction includes self advocacy, self-esteem, assertiveness, and decision making to successfully maintain independence.
