Who We Serve
The Arc of Ventura County currently serves over 800 people in a variety of programs throughout
Ventura County. Informed decisions, positive changes and integration
in the community are fundamental principles in all programs.
Individuals who meet eligibility criteria of California's regional
centers are eligible for these services. The Arc of
Ventura County is
a "vendor" to the Regional Centers and the California Department
of Vocational Rehabilitation, and receives referrals and fees for
services provided.
A limited number of scholarships are available to those in need of
services who do not meet state or federal funding requirements. Proceeds
from our community fundraising effords help support scholarships and
other provided services that are not funded.
On a national average, 5 percent of the population has some form of
developmental disability. This includes mental retardation, autism,
cerebral palsy, epilepsy, severe brain trauma and any other closely
related condition from birth to age 18.
As evidence of our programming excellence, The Arc of
Ventura County has
been accredited by CARF (The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission
of the United States) since 1979.
